Cardio versus weights argument
Running for hours on end or cross training in between different programmes and aiming for calorie marks will not aid weight loss for the long term. Most of this sweat is water and other electrolytes being passed out and not really getting into the deep glycogen stores that need to be broken down. The best way to do this would be to incorporate a 10 minute warm up followed by a few weight exercises before hand and then hitting the cardio work for a short but explosive and very effective interval cardio session. Intervals hit the different heart ranges and allow the heart rates to fluctuate allowing enough time to get into the fat burning zone and stay there even 2 hours after exercise!! Another great way would be to hit a tabata training cardio session before the weights session to keep heart rate elevated throughout the circuit training for maximum calorie burning gains!! This includes from 6 -10 sprints for 20 seconds separated by 10 seconds gap on a light jog.
